1983 Gig Schedule
By early 1983, it became obvious that things were changing
rapidly on the ballroom scene.
Ballrooms were closing on nearly a daily basis and hotels, which had
once been a great source
of income for 2nd tier bands, were now being taken over by the top
bands who were cutting down
their numbers and willing to play for less. After being cancelled
twice within a short time and
learning on the second occasion that Shaun O'Dowd was doing the gig,
the band fired Paddy
and Gerry took over management of the band. It soon became obvious
the band's days were
numbered unless they downsized drastically and went back to be a
regional band. Instead,
Gerry and Kim returned to the United States in September, 1983.
